Lens on Litter Photo Contest

For over 40 years, the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) has held an annual Gene Capaldi Lens on Litter Photo Contest, not to glorify litter but to bring attention to the litter problem in communities across Pennsylvania. Exposure leads to prevention!  Contest dates run from January 1 to October 31 each year.

Amateur photographic submissions help bring awareness to how litter threatens public health and safety, scenic beauty, property values, the environment, pets and wildlife, and will be judged on six criteria: anti-litter message, originality, photographic technique, quality of photo, originality of title and severity of the litter.

Contestants are eligible for monetary prizes of $500 for 1st, $250 for 2nd & $100 for 3rd place in both adult & student (through 12th grade) categories.

This year, sponsored by Keep PA Beautiful, we have added a new Before & After category, with the winning Adult & Student being eligible for an additional $500 prize.

Litter is a quality of life issue that needs to be addressed by all.  PRC cannot effectively fight litter without the full support of the community.
