Notice of 2021 Scheduled Meetings


Public notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Sewickley, County of Westmoreland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, shall hold its regular meetings for the calendar year 2021 at 7:00pm on the following dates: January 20th, February 17th, March 17th, April 21st, May 19th, June 16th, July 21st, August 18th, September 15th, October 20th, November 17th, and December 15th.

The August 21st meeting shall be held at the Sewickley Township Municipal Building, 2288 Mars Hill Road, Irwin, PA  15642.

PUBLIC COMMENT CAN ALSO BE MAILED TO THE SAME ADDRESS OR SENT VIA EMAIL BY 3:00 P.M. THE DAY OF THE MEETINGS AT MANAGER@SEWICKLEYTOWNSHIP.ORG.

Mobile Medical Van to Provide COVID-19 Vaccinations

Community Health Clinic will be visiting our community in a new Mobile Medical Van to provide COVID-19 Vaccinations


Where:  Smithton Volunteer Fire Department, 131 1st Street, Smithton

When:  Monday, August 9th and Monday, August 16th from 11:00am—3:30pm

Attention Whyel and Rillton Residents!  Take the Survey

Surveys are coming in the mail to residents in the Whyel and Rillton areas.  They are important in order to receive grant funding for new roads in 2022.

PLEASE return them promptly.

No person, firm, or corporation shall within the Township burn anything at any time except between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday and Saturday.

Ramp Closures for Interstate 70

South Huntingdon/Sewickley Township, Westmoreland County

PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists of the closure of the westbound on and off ramps on Interstate 70 at Exit 54 (Madison) in South Huntingdon and Sewickley Townships, Westmoreland County. The closure will begin on Tuesday, July 6 at 7 pm and will continue until Thursday, August 19 at 12 pm.

The closure is part of the project currently reconstructing the Yukon and Madison exits along Interstate 70 in Westmoreland County.

A marked detour will be in place using Exit 53 (Yukon) to Route 3010 (Wyano/Waltz Mill Road) and Route 3037 (Waltz Mill Road).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.

811 Day is a national annual initiative to ensure the practice of safe digging is echoed in communities by calling 8-1-1, a nationwide toll-free number, before any underground excavation project.

COVID-19 – What You Need to Know

All Pennsylvanians have an important role to play in stopping the spread of COVID-19 and saving lives.  The Department of Health strongly encourages individuals to abide by the following social distancing requirements to:

  • Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other individuals;
  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds as frequently as possible, or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available;
  • Cover coughs or sneezes with a sleeve or elbow, not hands;
  • Do not shake hands
  • Regularly clean high-contact surface areas
  • When sick, stay at home.

Sewickley Township Parks & Recreation

  • Crabapple Park Complex Closed to Vehicular Traffic November 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021 
  • Park is open year-round 8am – Dusk to fishing, walkers, runners and pets (on leash)
  • Additional parking at ball-field lot (across from H.W. Good Elementary School)
  • Do not block gates in case of emergency

Sewickley Township Recycling

The recycle bins located in the Township Building parking lot are for recyclable items only.  Acceptable items are plastic bottles and containers, food and beverage cans, paper and flattened cardboard.  NO PLASTIC BAGS are permitted.  REGULAR GARBAGE is NOT permitted in or around the bins.  The Township is paying penalty fees for unacceptable items.
