Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to protect, restore and maintain the environmental qualities of our county for the benefit of all who live, work, and visit herein. Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling operates a recycling center for hard-to-dispose material, initiates and facilitates programs by bringing together a network of volunteers, industry leaders, and state and local government representatives to provide services in the most efficient and economical manner.

Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling Website- Westmoreland County Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) Website. This website provides project updates, resources, and links to hazard mitigation in support of the HMP project. The goal of the project is to save lives and property through the reduction of hazard vulnerability for the community. During the course of this planning project, local leaders and the community will work in tandem to identify risks, assess capabilities, and formulate a strategy to reduce disaster vulnerability.

Westmoreland County has embarked on developing its new county-wide Comprehensive Plan. The main goal of the plan is to develop long-term strategies for land use, transportation, housing, economic development, agriculture, recreation, etc. to ensure that county policies, goals, and action steps are aligned with its’ residents.
The county is in the community outreach phase of updating their comprehensive plan and need the resident’s help.

The Westmoreland County Geographic Information Systems department fulfills a statutory requirement that all taxable property is mapped, a vital role in the tax assessment process. Using cutting edge technology, Westmoreland County GIS is able to provide tax parcel data in a variety of formats, available to both public and private entities via the GIS Tax Mapping website and through a secure file transfer site.
