  • You must be present for most, if not all, sessions to be able to pass a level.

 Swim Lesson Guidelines:

  • Our lessons are group swim lessons. This means that your child will be learning how to swim with other children in their level.
  •  Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced lessons will all occur at the same dates and times but in different locations of the pool.
  • If your child has never taken swim lessons, it is highly recommended that they start in the Level One, Beginner.
  • The Instructor may move a swimmer up to a higher level or down to a lower level if necessary.
  • Please realize that each level can take two or three times to pass; this depends upon the individual swimmer. It is not like passing a grade, but  rather, it is a combination of listening, internalizing, practicing and coordinating movements to meet the swim lesson standards.
  • ALL PARENTS/CHAPERONES MUST REMAIN UNDER THE PAVILION OR AWAY FROM THE POOL AREA.  IT IS  IN THE BEST INTEREST OF YOUR CHILDREN NOT TO BE DISTRACTED DURING LESSONS.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DO NOT BRING CHILDREN NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE SWIM LESSONS TO THE POOL.

Description of Levels:

  • Level One: Beginner – Introduction to Fundamental Aquatic Skills-The objectives of Level 1 are to learn basic personal water safety information and skills, to help participants feel comfortable in the water and to give participants success with fundamental skills. In Level 1, participants start developing positive attitudes, safe practices in and around water, learn how to float on their backs and stomachs, and learn the fundamentals of the front crawl.
  • Level Two: Intermediate – Stroke Development-The objective of Level 2 is to build on previously learned skills by providing additional guided practice. Participants will continue to practice and refine the front crawl. Participants will learn the backstroke, the scissor kick, and the dolphin kick..
  •  Level Three: Advanced – Stroke Refinement – The objectives of this level are coordination and refinement of strokes. Participants refine their performance of all the strokes:   front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, and increase their distances. Flip turns will, also, be introduced.
  •  Private Lessons – See Pool Manager
